My 1/10/00 Finds
We decided to head for an old Ohio camp we hit a few years ago in West Virginia. We left Manassas about 7:30 AM and headed for the mountains of W. Va. It was raining pretty hard when we left but it was supposed to stop by noon. We arrived at the camp around 10 AM and it was still raining lightly. So we went into a little country store and sat by a wood stove waiting for the rain to stop. At 10:30, the rain stopped so we headed into the woods. The ground was nice and moist so the digging was great. I dug the following relics which wasn't bad for a dug out camp. I guess my best find would be the Eagle "R" cuff button. The big hunk of melted lead was down about a foot and I was sure it was going to be an Ohio breast plate....oh well!!!
Terry dug a nice coat Eagle "A" button and Eddie dug both halves to a pistol power flash. It had a neat hunting scene on it.
